Biography

It’s never too late

to break the mold.

Bryan Crusoe lives in Panama City, where he was born and raised.

He began his journey as a globetrotter, traveling to the most remote places, learning from different cultures and consuming the best that life has to offer, molding a healthy criterion for himself in which he realized quickly that different is in deed beautiful.

Art is like a lit match in the middle of an open field at night. It allows us to see how much darkness there is around us. It is in the midst of that darkness that Bryan Crusoe begins to emerge from his mold. Unknowingly transmuting his vocation to an authentic and automatic expression, capable of unlocking and exposing his unconscious mind. He began with digital art and as he was creating he became interested from a technical point of view in splashing the surface of a canvas with paint, in a spontaneous and energetic way. Without a predetermined scheme, he flowed creating through his Art, his space of action.

“Art with me is Everything”, Crusoe exclaims, and It’s very much reflected within his artwork.  He paints from his subconscious and his artistic style is action art.

In a dreamlike way, his art pulls us through figures and backgrounds, with no limits between the two.  There is no telling where one begins, or the other ends.

it wasn’t until his early 40’s that he dares for the first time to embark on a new epoch in his path; without any formal artistic studies or knowledge of specific techniques.

We could perhaps think that Bryan Crusoe is naive, for launching himself into a universe that he himself declares to know nothing of, but it is that nothing that allows him no limits and is the means of creation.

Bryan Crusoe shows us that the true journey does not consist in looking for new places or exotic cultures, but in observing the present with new eyes.

Reinventing yourself is not a guarantee of happiness, but with curiosity on your side one is given the courage to fight for it.  And so, pushing societies boundaries and limits.
